Cherie works full time at Disability Connect as Operations Manager and Executive Assistant.  She was introduced to the disability community after having twins in 2003. One of the twins, was born with a rare disorder, and has chronic health conditions, autism and intellectual disability. She has negotiated the health and disability system as a parent with a child that doesn’t fit the box and believes in never giving up. She is  is Chair of Complex Care Group and a family representative on Whaikaha’s Strategy Advisory Group.  She holds a BA in Business Psychology from Massey University, which was achieved part-time while caring for and raising her children together with her husband.
