Yoky was born in China. She migrated to New Zealand in 2012,and built her young family here. Yoky’s husband has worked in the disability sector for more than 10 years and they have a young child. She has her own small floristry business and works for Disability Connect part time. Yoky is passionate about helping people. She has a specific focus on supporting families with disability in the Chinese community, hosting our Chinese Family Disability Support Group and engaging with families through WeChat. Yoky has a degree in Fine Chemical Engineering & Technologies from Wuhan Textile University (2011) as well as qualifications in Horticulture from Massey (2014), Floristry from MIT( 2018) and Building Inclusive Communities from the Federation of Disability Information Centres (2022) .
