Presenters:
Jane Bawden
Jane Bawden joined Parent to Parent NZ as CEO in 2018, following a career in law and governance in the health and disability sector for over 20 years. Our family includes 22 year old twins, including a son with a rare chromosomal disorder, autism and significant support needs, our daughter Laura at University in Wellington, Maggie the dog and my husband Royden. We enjoy walking, swimming and family time together. There is plenty of opportunity for family time at the moment!
Mike Potter
Mike is a husband to Anne, dad to two daughters, one of whom has a learning disability and CEO at Disability Connect. Previously a university lecturer, competitive runner and Marketing Manager for cbm he has lived experience of disability from paraplegia as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Egypt in 2008. Outside of work he engages with his local community to improve mobility access and is pursuing an active family life.
Mark Benjamin
Mark has worked for Standards and Monitoring Services (SAMS) since 1989 and has been the CEO since 2006. He has a long and established track recork within the disability sector of New Zealand. Mark contributed to the development of the original Enabling Good Lives report and has involvement with the Christchurch and Waikato demonstrations and also Systems Transformation in Mid Central. Mark believes the practical application of concepts like equity, respect and partnership transform individuals, families, organisations and communities.
