Cherie works part time at Disability Connect in a support role. She was introduced to the disability community after having twins in 2003. One of the twins, was born with a rare disorder, and has chronic health conditions, autism and intellectual disability. She has negotiated the health and disability system as a parent with a child that doesn’t fit the box and believes in never giving up. She is is Chair of Complex Care Group and a family representative on Whaikaha’s Strategy Advisory Group. She holds a BA in Business Psychology from Massey University, which was achieved part-time while caring for and raising her children together with her husband.
